Web Feature Service support added to FasterMap

FasterMap, Innogistic's innovative solution for managing OS MasterMap data has been enhanced to provide support for the Open Geospatial Consortium's Web Feature Service protocol.

Dr Kieron Brown, Software Director at Innogistic, explains further:

"Adding WFS support to FasterMap, now means that in addition to generating map images, the OS MasterMap data can be queried and detailed attribute information returned. Spatial searches, such as finding all buildings within a given area, are now supported"

FasterMap allows any GIS conforming to Open Geospatial Consortium standards to access a central store of OS MasterMap data. FasterMap provides an efficient means by which data held in its compressed GZ format can be served up directly, thereby minimising data storage requirements.
