Transport costs at Local Authority reduced by £30,000 thanks to GIS

The London Borough of Sutton has saved £30,000 in transportation costs in their Social Services department alone, as a result of innovative use of their Corporate GIS.

By re-evaluating the routes used by minibuses to transport children with special educational needs from home to school, significant effiency improvements were found, as indicated in this study commissioned by the Ordnance Survey. For the full story visit the link below:
