GIS modelling enhanced for Water Framework Directive at Yorkshire Water
05 February 2007
Yorkshire Water Services Limited have placed a contract with Innogistic to further enhance their GIS models in support of the Water Framework Directive. The contract builds upon earlier work undertaken by Innogistic in support of Yorkshire Water’s Biodiversity Action Plan.
Elizabeth Oldroyd, Environmental Analyst at Yorkshire Water explains further:
“We are identifying more and more opportunities where GIS can help us deliver better value for our customers and the environment. The aim of this Water Framework Directive work is to create a single system, which integrates fluvial data with asset performance, and other biological and chemical maps. The tool will help us minimise the environmental impact of our work, and help us target further investment where the environmental benefits exceed the costs”.
